It is a well-known fact that the long-suffering people of Telangana have experienced the disastrous effects of colonial Andhra rule in the economic and political spheres for over fifty years. A lesser known, but equally disturbing aspect of this colonization is the long-standing and continuing onslaught on Telangana’s culture, and the naked linguistic chauvinism exhibited by coastal Andhra’s filmmakers.
